dancer, performer, creator of all things movement

Artist Statement
I am a firm believer that humans long for and need community. We need to feel like we are heard and accepted by those around us. We need to feel stimulated in sharing our ideas and discoveries. And most importantly, we need to feel loved and safe. In art, it is the same. We communicate, exchange artistic gifts, and create meaningful work, inspiring one another in the process. This is what drives my creativity and pursuit of dance. I strive to build bridges of art and human connection by using movement to make people feel included. I embrace the small things in life and amplify them. I work to create worlds of unity and self-expression through the connection of human experiences and emotions and find life in exploring the complexities of humanity; harmony awaits in my ever-intriguing pursuit of unified authenticity.
About Me
My name is Rebekah Petersen, but most people just call me Bekah. I am 26 years young and am currently living in Omaha, Nebraska, pursuing an education in Athletic Training, while also growing my career as a professional choreographer and performer. I am quite passionate about creating movement that is accessible to both dancers and movers alike and I truly believe that anyone can dance. Here are a few more fun facts about me:
-
I am a triplet! My sister, Hannah, and I are identical while Emily, my other sister, is fraternal. And yes, all of us dance :)
-
I also have an older sister and two loving parents. They are my biggest support system and I would not be where I am today without them.
-
I love voice acting!
-
I can speak a little French and a little Korean
