It's a Sister Act

Crane River brought the convent to Kearney Nebraska, summer 2022, and Rebekah Petersen couldn't have been more thrilled. Being her first speaking role with this company, she really dove into the character of Sister Mary Martin-of-Tours. Of course, it didn't come without its challenges. The role, traditionally, is played by a much older female-presenting person, and it is evident in the script. But that didn't stop Petersen from finding her own take in the character. One of her favorite parts of playing Mary Martin-of-Tours was the freedom to just be weird and unpredictable, and on the occasion senile. She especially enjoyed playing off her cast-mates' reactions and developing relationships between characters.
